TridentNet is a simple but effective application that will detect the file format you are using.

First of all, we would like to download a list of definitions provided by its developer. Then, move it to Trendnet folder and copy it. Since then, the program will detect all the formats.

Choose the file you want to identify, right-click it and select the 'Analyze' option. In a few seconds, you have the results.
