CryptoTE
CryptoTe is a light text editor that is similar to classic notepad, though Crypto offers more features than offers offered by Windows.
The program uses a file's 256 bit encryption system, which does not allow the user to read the document except for the password.
CryptoTe includes a tab system to work with different documents together and a matter of seconds changes from one to another. There is a quick and comfortable way to work with many documents if you have to check both documents.
Finally, when you save the document, it automatically shrinks and it will be really short, perfect for your HD.
If you want a secure notepad, CryptoTe will be perfect.
