Wintermute Engine Development Kit
Creating an animated adventure from scratch can be a real audisi, but if you follow the example of the Wintermut engine development kit, you'll be easier to imagine.
This is a nice engine made of full animated event with 2D and 3D characters. That said, if you have any programming skills, forget about it. But it is helpful to learn about the syntax, similar to the language used in C
The script editor lets you control each element: menus, objects, letters, settings, etc. Recommendations vary from 320x200 to 1024x768 with a color depth of 16 or 32 bits. You can use different languages.
The engine is also a separate editor of the editors and a level editor where you can combine different images by mixing one over the other, create character movements, or split into the viewer levels and the boundaries can make them interactive.
Notes
For Windows 98, 98SE, Me, 2000, XP, and Vista. Requires DirectX 8.0 or higher.
